Derek L. Caldwell
Founder & President
Derek L. Caldwell founded Kariba Capital in 2004. Prior to Kariba, Mr. Caldwell was Executive Vice President of Sunrise Securities for 14 years, where his interests focused on private placements in both private and public companies as well as business development and the implementation of strategy. Throughout his career, Derek has covered the entire lifecycle of his client’s financing needs including due diligence and the management and use of proceeds. Derek has also assisted investors with their process from diligence to the investment phase, post-closing, and beyond. Mr. Caldwell has worked on helping companies maintain close contact with investors and shareholders to deliver a strong, consistent message. Mr. Caldwell has focused on small and micro-cap companies, primarily in the natural resources, healthcare, and technology sectors as well as in commercial real estate and development. Derek is interested in helping promising companies grow to reach their full potential while offering opportunities for investors to participate in promising, qualified opportunities. A graduate of Wake Forest University with a degree in Economics, Derek has served as a personal advisor and on numerous boards of directors for large and smaller companies throughout North America, Europe and Africa. Mr. Caldwell holds the FINRA Series 7, 55, and 63 licenses.
